Warehouse trucks

When you’re looking to buy a warehouse truck the most important considerations are: the type of warehouse truck, the load capacity (the maximum weight that could be lifted), the lifting height, the type of the mast, fork length and fork width, type of wheels and the traction package. Propulsion is always electric.

There is a giant stocks of warehousetrucks, so it’s important to make the right choice for the warehousetruck you buy. In logistics, a balance is sought between as much storage as possible and quick handling, where aisle width and turning radius are important. Look carefully at the conditions and environment in which this truck will be used. Do hazardous substances play a role or is it very cold (cold store or cold storage), that determines the execution of the machine. Furthermore, the space in which you work and what load needs to be picked up also determines the model. Heavy loads require a higher capacity truck. Next to that the height and storage method are important, such as double-deep pallet storage, the use of drive-in racks or cantilever racks for long goods. Also, the distance and size of the warehouse is important. There are pallet trucks and stackers for walking operators, but also with ride-on platform, so the operator stands on the machine and rides along (faster and less tiring). Below briefly some options of warehouse trucks.

Reachtucks

A reachtruck is an electric machine in which the mast is retracted horizontally, and is moved to the center of gravity of the machine. Thanks to this feature, reach trucks have several advantages over counterbalance forklifts: they weigh less, can operate in narrower aisles (± 2700 mm clearance) and provide better performance.

The masts and forks are similar to those of counterbalance or electric forklifts. For the entry and exit of pallets in the warehouse rack, the reachtruck is placed directly in front of the loading unit after which the mast is moved outward, what makes it easier to move in narrow aisles. There are reachtrucks that can lift loads up to more than 10m high, where tools can be used to move maneuver at higher levels.

Because of all these advantages reachtrucks are most commonly used today when performing work in warehouses.

A variant of this is the 4-way reach truck. In this, the wheels can be set in different directions so the reach truck can also drive sideways. This is often used when storing long goods such as wood, plastics, panels, etc.

Stacker

The electric stacker is a pump truck to which a lifting element has been added. The bottom forks are placed under the pallets and therefore the bottom boards of the pallets must always be longitudinal and never transverse to them, otherwise they might break during lifting.

Different models of electric stackers are offered on the market: models where the warehouse worker walks along or where he takes a seat on a standing platform or driver’s seat.

Order pickers

There is a large diversity of machines available on the market with very different characteristics. There are three main groups:

Order picker basic model: the simplest model is the order picker that works with floor-level loads. Although these machines allow to prepare orders only with items located at the first storage level (the floor and the first shelf of the racking), some models are equipped with a small platform that allows the warehouse worker to go up in to the height, allowing them to reach higher-level racking compartments. Order pickers with extra long forks can transport two or three pallets at the same time.

Medium lift orderpicker: the second model is the one for medium-height levels. People developed these material handling machines to ensure that warehouse workers can reach greater heights. The simplest type features a non-slip platform at the top of the engine block. Because the machine is quite tall, the orderpicker has a small step between the floor and the driver platform, which can be folded., The other orderpicker is equipped with a lifting system, which allows the warehouse worker to raise the driver platform if that’s needed.

High-lift order picker: Order pickers of this type can reach medium and high levels. This includes a mast, through which a cab, in which the warehouse worker is located, is moved up and down. The forks mounted in front of the cab or are attached to a second lift mast integrated in front of the cab. This allows the warehouse worker to lift or lower the load to the most comfortable working height.

Pallettrucks

These have motors both for moving and picking up the pallet from the floor. The warehouse worker accompanies the pedestrian pallet truck on foot and controls it by means of control buttions. In addition, there are versions for a ride-along driver with platform or seating area.

Tow tractors

The electric tractors are available in various versions, we differentiate between tractors with a seat and tractors with stand.

The tractors with seat have 3 or 4 wheels and are suitable for indoor and outdoor use due to the super elastic tires. These tractors are equipped with a comfortable seat with suspension, so that drivers can work comfortably for a longer period of time.

Combitrucks

Combitrucks com in two types: as man-up, where the drive is lifted up, and as man-down. Man-up combi trucks are suitable for overhead order picking. Many times these trucks are custom manufactured to the specifications of particular warehouses.

Used warehousetruck sale through trader and dealer

We only supply the trucks in trade conditions to traders and dealers in material handling or mechanization technology and don’t have our own service department. A used warehouse truck must be clearly described so that it meets expectations. With a large number of photos, the used warehouse truck is portrayed in the best possible way.

The selling price is determined based on several criteria. What use is the truck coming from (light, medium or heavy use). This can be a clean warehouse, but also from a heavy use such as 3-shifts or from dirty conditions. The hour meter shows how much the used warehouse truck has worked.

Furthermore, there are many options available with warehouse trucks. There are numerous choices available in the type of the lift mast. The construction height of the lift mast is usually the highest point. With passages and doors, it is important to make the right choice here.

Also there are many options for putting together a cab. Especially if the machine has to work outside, there are different possibilities of standard latticework, windshield or a complete (coldstore) cabin.

With electric forklifts, the condition of the battery is important, because this is an important part of the price and partly determines the condition of the truck.

Then the optical aspect also plays a role. Is the machine still nice on the outside and with correct type plate and model sticker and is the seat still intact. Worn tires are usually removed and replaced with new tires.

All used trucks are advertised ex work on our own website and Supralift, but if necessary Forklift Focus can also organize transport on request to any place in the Netherlands or Europe. We have loading stations to load (mega) trailers and have heavy forklifts to load trucks on an open trailer from the side.
