Four Way Reachtruck
A 4-way reach truck, also known as a multidirectional reach truck, is a specialized type of reach truck that can move in all directions. This capability makes it particularly well-suited for maneuvering in narrow aisles and handling long loads, such as pipes or steel plates. The multidirectional movement is achieved by having not only the steering wheel under the operator move but also both load wheels. With a button press on the dashboard, the desired travel direction can typically be selected automatically. Examples include the ATLET UFS / UFW, Jungheinrich ETV-Q, Linde R25F / Still FM 4, and BT Reflex FRE.
Narrow Aisles:
Due to their multidirectional capability, 4-way reach trucks are ideal for use in very narrow aisles where conventional forklifts would be difficult to maneuver. Their lifting capacities range from 2,000 to 3,000 kg, and thanks to their polyurethane wheels, these machines are very stable and can achieve lift heights of around 10 meters.
Heavy Loads and Outdoor Use:
For heavier loads and outdoor environments, there are side loaders with lifting capacities exceeding 10 tons. The 4-way machines from brands such as Combilift, Bulmor, and Hubtex are also noteworthy. Equipped with solid rubber tires, these machines are suitable for outdoor use and are available with options for diesel, LPG, and electric motors.
