Forklifts

When you’re looking to buy a forklift, the most important considerations are: the type of forklift, the load capacity (up to what weight a pallet can be lifted), the lift height, the type of lift mast, the tires and the type of drive train. The most common drives are electric, diesel and LPG, but meanwhile hybrid drives for forklifts also exist.

Buy a forklift

There is a use offer of forklifts, because of that good preparation is important when buying a forklift. In logistics, a balance is sought between as much storage as possible and quick handling where aisle width and turning radius of the forklift are important. Look carefully at the conditions and environment in which the forklift will be used. The environment will determine which drive system suits best. Whether it is indoor or outdoor, whether hazardous substances play a role or whether it is very cold, these determine the choice of drive. Furthermore, the room in which you work and the load to be picked up also determine the model. Heavy loads require a heavier and therefore larger forklift, but for wide loads, a side loader may be a solution. For smaller forklifts that are mostly used in warehouses, you can choose between 3-wheel and 4-wheel rear axle. Next to that the lift height and storage method are still important when choosing a forklift or reach truck.

Electric 3-wheel forklift truck

An alternative to the standard 4-wheel electric forklift is the 3-wheel variant. This model also proves its added value in outdoor areas. This "three-wheeler" is much more maneuverable, as the rear wheel (or dual rear wheels) can travel at full angle. Thanks to its maneuverability, this type of forklift can also do well in narrower aisles.

Electric forklift with 4 wheels

Various types of trucks are available for loading and unloading pallets in warehouses. The standard, electric forklift is equipped with 4 wheels. This type of forklift is great for outdoor use. Indoors, it does not fare as well. This electric forklift has a slightly large turning radius and thus requires wider aisles. Both electric forklifts (3 and 4 wheels) also have a disadvantage: the maximum lift height is about 6 meters, with the remaining capacity also relatively low.

Combustion forklift (diesel and LPG)

Especially widely used outdoors for loading and unloading trucks and moving (heavy) goods and pallets across terrains. With diesel engines, indoor driving is no longer allowed. Furthermore, with diesel engines, due to harmful substances, it is important that it is equipped with a particulate filter. Furthermore, combustion forklifts are often equipped with attachments such as fork adjusters, bale clamps or double fork adjusters. Different fork lengths are also possible

Forklift used

Forklift used is what Forklift Focus focuses on. We have an inventory of approximately 300 used forklifts and warehouse trucks in all segments. We also have a complementary assortment of at least 200 pieces of attachments. We specialize in the premium brand Linde. A Linde forklift used is made driveable by us, next to that we cleaned and if necessary painted the forklift smoothly. We have the equipment to properly diagnose the data from the truck computer. Besides Linde, we also carry brands from the Mitsubishi group such as Caterpillar, Atlet and Nissan. Also a small assortment of other brands such as used Still, Hyster, Yale, Toyota forklifts.

Used forklift sale through trader or dealer

We only supply the trucks in trade conditions to traders and dealers in material handling or mechanization technology and do not have our own service department. A used forklift truck must be clearly described so that it meets expectations. With a large number of photos, the used forklift is portrayed in the best possible way.

The selling price is determined based on several criteria. From what use is the truck coming from (light, medium or heavy use). This can be a clean warehouse, but also from heavy industry or dirty conditions. The hour meter shows how much the used forklift has worked.

Furthermore, there are many options available on forklifts. That’s why forklifts in general are almost never the same. There are numerous choices in type of lift mast (standard 2-piece lift mast without free lift, a duplex 2-piece mast with free lift or triplex mast with free lift for a higher lift height combined with a lower clearance height. The construction height of the lift mast is usually the highest point. For passages and doors, it is important to make the right choice here.

There are also many options for putting together a cab. Especially if the machine has to work outside, there are several options from standard grille, windshield, half-cab or full cab with or without heating and even air conditioning.

Has the forklift had proper maintenance? This is very important for the condition of the motors and drive train. How old is the machine, is it a popular model?

With electric forklifts, the condition of the battery is important, because this is an important part of price and partly determines the condition of the truck.

Then the optical aspect also plays a role. Is the machine still nice on the outside and with correct type plate and model sticker and is the seat still intact. Worn tires are usually removed and replaced with new tires.

All used trucks are advertised ex works on our own website and Forklift International, but on request Forklift Focus can also organize transport to any place in the Netherlands or Europe. We have loading stations to load (mega) trailers and have heavy forklifts to load trucks on an open trailer from the side.

We cooperate with reputable transporters with experience in machine transports.

As a service to our trade partners, we also have a warehouse with used parts, mostly from scrapped trucks. These are advertised on our website with OEM number, description and a few pictures.
